What is Kebaya?


Kebaya is a traditional blouse dress worn by woman in Indonesian, Malaysian, Burma, Thailand and some part of Cambodia made from sheer material and usually worn with a sarong, batik or other traditional clothing such a songket with a colorful motif.

In some part of Indonesia, Kebaya has their own characteristic in each area.
There are some countries which are located in northern part of Indonesia archipelago that familiar & use this costume.
In the other word this fashion there are many areas that affected by the regional Arab & Portuguese expansion.

Countries that also have kebaya like China, Thailand and Filipina besides the other European countries, which of course every country has their own uniquenes.

The Kabaya is national costume of Indonesia , although it is more accurately endemic to Java, Sunda and Bali.
